The caramelized crust added more flavours and texture to these delectable bites. The ribs was soft but not fall-off-the-bone so they were just perfect. 10/10!īaby back ribs braised then fried until crisp, with chili and lime. WOWZA and YUMZA! The president said the livers had this amazing flavour profile and had beautiful texture. I hate liver but I loved the rich flavours of the sauce. Pan-fried with brandy peppercorn sauce, baguette toast. The mode was casual and the ambiance had this quirky old world charm. This restaurant is in the historic Exchange District of YWG and housed in one of the many turn-of-the-century beautifully preserved masonry structures in one of Canada’s designated historic sites. Today has been the best meal we’ve had so far. It was different a very different experience in comparison to when we last came here!ĭay 12 of my pre birthday celebrations and in pursuit of discovering the new (possible) home city’s food. We haven’t been to 529 Wellington since COVID. We were looking forward to dinner experience and left disappointed. Our food was great, just disappointed at the service. Imagine his surprise when he overheard the conversation in the next table! Overall, we felt judged. My husband wanted to order beef Wellington and didn’t see it in the menu so he thought they no longer carry this item. We overheard the feature items from the tables beside us. We even asked for recommendation, he briefly mentioned a few appetizers and still did not mention their feature items. He didn’t introduce their feature for the night when he first came over.

Though we were willing to pay for the food! I’m not sure if it was because we weren’t dress up and came in work clothing, we felt our server wasn’t interested in serving us. As construction season is here and traffic is bad everywhere, we decided to come to dinner straight from work. My husband and I came for a date night after work. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch and I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious dishes. In conclusion, if you're looking for a fantastic fine dining experience, I highly recommend checking out 529 Wellington. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. I also loved that they had a great selection of desserts, and I couldn't resist trying their homemade lemon cheesecake. It was the perfect spot for a date night or a special occasion. The restaurant also had a great atmosphere, with a lively but not overwhelming buzz. I also appreciated that they checked in on us multiple times throughout the meal to ensure everything was to our satisfaction.

They were happy to make recommendations and helped me pair my meal with the perfect wine. The service was top-notch, with the waitstaff being attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The side dishes are also wonderful for sharing with the table and are portioned large enough for many to enjoy. Each bite was a taste sensation, and I couldn't help but savor every mouthful. The flavors were expertly balanced and the presentation was stunning. The menu was extensive and had something for everyone, but I decided to try one of the their Canadian Prime steaks they are know for and I was not disappointed. The decor was beautiful and inviting, with a cozy and rustic feel. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly and welcoming staff. I recently had the pleasure of dining at 529 Wellington, and I have to say it was an absolutely amazing experience.
